Hi, I'm Elisha and welcome to The Crystal Doula.
I'm a mother of three, so as well as all my training, I have been through pregnancy, labour, birth, and all that follows with my own children, and I've learnt a lot of tips and tricks along the way.
I trained as a Breastfeeding Helper after having my first over 10 years ago, and that's where my love for helping families started. I've been a volunteer ever since, running weekly breastfeeding support groups and drop ins, and I'm now training to be a Certified Lactation Consultant.
Whilst trying to get pregnant with my second, I suffered with secondary infertility, this was one of the hardest experiences I've gone through, and I felt so incredibly grateful, but also terrified when I got pregnant. It was this pregnancy that threw me into research around birth, and where I really found I had to advocate for myself, hard!
It was after this that I really started thinking about becoming a Doula. Originally I only wanted to focus on being a Postnatal Doula, however during my training, and afterwards, I discovered how much I love learning about, teaching about, and supporting birth!
I'm really passionate about educating around pregnancy, birth, and beyond, and I just want you to know that everything is an option, that you absolutely have choices, and a say in what happens, and I'll be there walking alongside you every step of the way.
I've had three very different, quite traumatic births, but I don't have birth trauma, and that is the difference between having the knowledge and confidence to advocate, to know how the system works, and what to do about it, over just going with the flow.
As your Doula, it's my role to provide continuous emotional, physical, and educational support to you, and your family, at every step of your journey.
I don't advise or tell you to do anything, but I stand beside you, and give you the knowledge, confidence and skills to make decisions that are right for you, and the ability to stand firm in what you want.
My commitment is to be there for you all offering guidance, comfort, reassurance. empathy and compassion, and creating a calm and supportive environment, where you feel heard, understood, and cared for.
No births are ever the same, so I will always provide a service that meets the needs of your individual situation, so whatever support you're looking for I'm here for you.
It's an absolute honour and a privilege to have you consider me supporting you on your journey through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
I know you want to give yourself the best chance of a positive birth experience, and that can be possible with a supportive, passionate and empathetic Doula by your side.
